"How Can I Learn to Draw"
I have been a teacher of drawing and painting for many years and since 2001 online. I kept having prospective students ask to just study drawing and sketching. I started with a one lesson "Just Learn to Draw Only 101Starter Lesson .... but some students wanted to continue with drawing only (no color and no oil painting)  ... So here is my answer to those students: A Six Lesson Drawing Only Art Course:

Lesson 1: Drawing and Form

• Drawing Art textbook – a heavily illustrated 224-page art textbook
• Supplemental mini lessons pertaining to form (found on our Web site)
• Digital Camera (compatible with your computer) ( I need you to fill out a Student Personal Information Form so I can match a camera to your computer properly)
• Caran d'Ache Drawing Kit in Wooden Case supplied:
   
• Contents of Drawing Kit described at the bottom of this page
• Pad paper Canson Classic WHITE art paper (50 sheets – 14 inches by 17 inches)
• Pad of colored paper for black, white and sepia drawings
• Lesson 1 assignment and homework
• Bound sketch book (to sketch as you go though your day—sketch people, places, etc).

You also receive a personal Web folder on the school’s Web site where you will receive information pertaining to Lesson 1. When you complete your assignment I will also post my personally prepared image and lesson critique to your Web folder.

Lesson 2: Composition—(Color Theory removed from oil course) added tasks in drawing composition.

• 2^nd Composition textbook (some color in both textbooks, but our focus will be on drawing, tone and form, not color
• Lesson 2 assignment and homework
• Pads of tone paper
• Derwent Drawing set in wood box

When you complete your assignment I will also post my personally prepared image and lesson critique to your Web folder.

Lesson 3: Perspective and Still Life
