A Revolutionary Way to Learn to Draw & Paint
Student uses a Digital Camera (supplied by the school along with Art Textbooks & Art Supplies) to take digital photos of their completed assigned Lesson Artwork for each lesson. The student sends those photos as email attachments to the teacher who draws, paints & comments on the work & posts a critique of each lesson on the school WEB site, a personalized How-To-Do-It-Better Critique for the student to view 24/7/365

All these courses are hobby courses. We abhor the exaggerated claim by some art courses of achieving wealth and fame by learning to draw and paint. Learn to draw and paint for the fun of it and leave the making of wealth to Wall Street.

We have students studying in watercolors, colored pencil and acrylics. Some students want different subject matter. We have one student want whose course is aimed at superhero and robot/monster realistic comics. Write me an email describing your needs and I can propose a custom course for you. The cost of this Custom Art Course is the same as the Original Oil Painting Art Course and the Budget Art Course above.  5. NEW Superintensive 24 Lesson Course

 Textbooks: 17 Lessons: 24 Critiques: 24  Cost: $ 2,700 USD

Description below but for complete details click here

Some prospective students have asked for an intensive immersion in learning to draw and to paint. They haven't the time or budget to fly around the world to the major art schools with their $100,000 cost for a four year art school enrollment plus the living costs to stay there.

This course does not pretend to equal a four year art school. There are no liberal arts components: Great Books Course, Sociology Course and the other liberal arts education components of a degree granting Fine Art College art course.

But there is a step by step plan structured into this intense course to allow a student to learn much of what they need to have a solid education in drawing and painting.

How long will it take? Depends on your available time. If a student can drop everything else, read the art textbooks and online supplemental eLessons on our school WEB site, and practice the exercises, then do the Lesson Assignments we post to their Personal Home Index Page on the school WEB site, the course could be done in 24 weeks.

For others, 24 months would be appropriate allowing time for real life, family friends, colds and the rest of the stuff life is made of.

We allow up to 48 months (4 years) for the completion of this Intensive Art Course in learning to draw and paint.

Will I be a painter when I am done? Nobody knows. How hard are you willing to work? How good a student are you - can you keep your nose in the Art textbooks supplied and read them and reread them till you get it (along with the help I supply in my hand drawn and hand painted critiques I post to your Personal Home Index page (to see a sample Critique click here).

I once had a teacher who said "paint 200 paintings and you will be a painter" - a good one, a medium one, but some kind of painter. There is also the old saying "Art is 90 percent perspiration and 10% inspiration". This is hard work and you can answer your own question about whether you can learn to draw and learn to paint.

 6. Comic/Fantasy Illustration Custom Course
 Textbooks: 9  Lessons: 6  Critiques: 6  Cost: $695 or $595 USD

The customized Interactive Art School Illustration / Comic / Fantasy art course substitutes books and modifies Lesson Assignments to focus on the subjects Illustration / Comic / Fantasy Art. The course is in pencil and oils. Comics are now done in line drawings which are scanned into computers and then color filled by specialists, but I think a student should be exposed to traditional techniques. There are also sci-fi and adventure artists who have gone on to painting and selling oil paintings of their fantasy figures.

For examples of Fine Art Paintings in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Art tradition that are sold as art in art galleries and as posters look at:http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0823016366/ref=sib_dp_pt/103-3386369-4650264#reader-link on Amazon.com
